Advantages of Distributed Representations
- Similarity and generalization e.g. if we discover that a chimpanzee likes onions then similarity between pattern for chimpanzee and ape allows us to automatically infer that apes like onions
- Corollary: Can represent type/instance information easily
- Creation of new concepts - no need to create new hardware for each new concept
