TPC Welcome

Welcome to the Eighteenth IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications (PerCom 2020)!

After a very successful edition in Kyoto, Japan, we return to the US to wonderful Austin, the capital of Texas and the eleventh largest city in the US.

The Technical Program Committee was composed of 84 members from 20 different countries who worked hard to select the best papers for the conference program. In total, we received 163 submissions. After a first check by the TPC chairs to identify obvious non-fitting papers (not mature enough or clearly not relevant to PerCom), 158 papers were reviewed by the TPC. Each paper received at least 3 reviews in this phase, which was followed by extensive online discussions.

On December 6th, a high percentage of the TPC assembled in person in Milpitas, CA, for a full-day TPC meeting. After a long and fruitful discussion, we finally accepted 19 full papers and 4 concise papers, resulting in an overall acceptance rate of 14%.

In addition, we offered 22 authors the option to redirect their papers to one of the high-quality workshops co-located at PerCom, the Work in Progress track, or the Industry track.

We thank first and foremost all TPC members, in particular those who attended the TPC meeting in person. In addition, we also thank the general chairs and the steering committee for their tireless effort to get any possible obstacles out of the way and to help us to concentrate on the technical program. A special thanks goes to our TPC Vice Chair Salil Kanhere who tamed EDAS with its plethora of configuration options. Finally, we also thank the entire PerCom Community -- without your research, your submissions, and your participation we would not have a conference at all!

Hope you enjoy the conference and Austin!
