PerCom WiP 2020: 18th Annual IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications Work In Progress - Welcome and Committees
Message from the WiP Chairs of PerCom 2020
Welcome to the PerCom 2020 Work-in-Progress (WiP) track, a forum for presenting and discussing new challenges and visions, showcasing early research results, and exploring novel research directions in all areas of pervasive computing research and applications.
In this year's WiP track, we received 44 submissions. Each paper received three to four reviews. Based on the reviews, 14 papers were accepted. This corresponds to an acceptance rate of 31.8%. The review process followed a single-blind procedure and counted on the direct participation of 22 members of the program committee from the international community. The quality of the program reflects the dedication of the members of the program committee. First, each paper was reviewed by three members of the program committee. For those papers receiving divergent views, we allocated 1-2 more reviewers for the paper to reach a consensus. From 14 papers accepted, we selected three base paper candidates to present in the main track (10 minutes) to compete for the best paper award in WiP while the rest of the papers have the chance of both oral presentation (1 minute madness talk) and poster presentation.
The selection criterion for the three best paper candidates are based on reviewer scores, comments, and novelty.
We would like to thank all those people who contributed to this WiP session, in particular the authors and the Program Committee members, who have worked hard to enable us to create a high-quality WiP program. We would also like to thank the PerCom 2020 General Chair, Christine Julien (University of Texas at Austin), for all the support to make this track possible and interesting. On behalf of the Program Committee we welcome all the PerCom 2020 WiP attendees, and wish a productive week in Austin.
