Robustness to Noise

• the IAC network uses the redundancy in its structure to provide a best guess of the information to be retrieved
• provided there are enough features that are correct, incorrect activation values will be overridden
• such an approach is useful in situations of extreme noise (such as speech recognition) where the information is incomplete or even incorrect
